First Baptist Church of Huntington, WV

"Please enter to worship and depart to serve."

First Baptist Missionary Church is located downtown Huntington, West Virginia at 801 Sixth Avenue, on the corner of Eighth Street and Sixth Avenue.  Founded in 1872, we are the oldest Baptist church in Huntington.  We are the home of the great Carter G. Woodson, Founder of Negro History Week, which later grew to become celebrated as "Black History Month."

First Baptist Church is pastored by Rev. Donte Jackson from Charleston, West Virginia.

At First Baptist, we believe that "welcome" is more than just a word, but an "act of love and attitude" expressed by its members and worshipers.  As we proclaim every Sunday, you are always welcome to visit and/or Join Us!
